Trading the Vietnamese Stock Market is geared towards foreigners who have an appetite for investing on their own in frontier markets. While Wall Street and London offer opportunities to invest in Vietnam in a rather plain vanilla and underwhelming manner.
We prefer to invest in a more hands-on approach. I prefer to get in and trade the markets myself. Perhaps it is a bit of the renegade in me or perhaps it is the utter disdain for the large investment institutions which make very little effort to achieve returns for which they are paid insanely well for lifting their fat fingers.
As a long term expat of South East Asia and in particular Vietnam, I have more than 14 years experience in investing in equities, futures, forex and commodities. The Vietnamese stock market is a particular interest as the local culture is the most entrepreneurial of any ever experienced in my time here in Asia.
The purpose of this particular blog, in addition to introducing the Vietnamese stock market. Is to expose you to some very robust and profitable methods for trading the local stock market. It has been my experience that the low volatility of the market here allows one to trade with trend following methods once considered proprietary in the Western markets. Over the coming weeks I will demonstrate these and eventually would like to issue signals for you to follow along if you so desire.
In addition I will also profile some interesting brokers and traders within the local Vietnamese market.
